Founded in 2016, Tannour was the first group in North Africa  to center gender justice at the heart of its work. We emerged in response to the urgent and deeply entrenched need for transformative change in attitudes and behaviors around gender in SWANA region. We recognize that changemakers exist in all spaces whether multinational corporations, local businesses, NGOs, CSOs or multilateral organizations and that everyone holds responsibility in dismantling systems of addressing gender inequalities and fostering equitable futures.

We commit to partnering with organizations and individuals who strive to : 

• Meaningfully engage with local realities while advancing their services through an equity lens.

• Challenge and disrupt harmful gender norms, promote gender justice, and address gender-based violence among staff, customers, and communities.

• Create workplaces that center women’s empowerment through capacity building, trainings, policy-making, and critical consciousness-raising.

• Establish workplaces grounded in equality, respect, and accountability.

• Develop communication tools, materials, and trainings that are intentionally gender-transformative.

• Conduct rigorous, feminist-informed qualitative and quantitative research that amplifies marginalized voices and challenges power structures.
